"Century Walk: Art Imitating History," the 122-page coffee-table book about Naperville’s public art project, has earned two platinum Hermes Creative Awards, the top honor given in the international awards competition. Jini Leeds Clare, author and creator of the book, won platinum awards for the publication in both the book and writing categories.
There were over 4,400 entries from throughout the United States, Canada and several other countries in the Hermes Creative Awards 2011 competition. Entries came from corporate marketing and communication departments, advertising agencies, PR firms, design shops, production companies and freelancers. Hermes Creative Awards is administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals.
"Century Walk: Art Imitating History" was commissioned by the Century Walk Corporation and was financed by a City of Naperville Special Events and Cultural Amenities (SECA) grant and by developers Dwight and Ruth Yackley, owners of BBM Incorporated. The book was beautifully designed by Gerard Design in Warrenville.
“This is truly an honor for me and for the entire Naperville community, which has supported Century Walk for so many years,” said Clare. “Through the book and these awards, we are sharing the story of this unusual public art project. Other cities are learning how they, too, can bring art to their communities.”
The four-color book retails for $39.99. It can be purchased directly from the author, Anderson’s Bookshops, and Century Walk Corporation. To schedule book signings or speaking engagements, please contact Jini Clare at 630-983-9964 or at email@example.com
