Title: A City in Transit

Artist: Hector Duarte and Mariah de Forest

Location: Chicago Ave. and Washington St.

Medium: Mural

Installation Date: 1998

Description: Mural depicting evolution of travel, including the DuPage River, Old Plank Road, the railroad, and the Lima Lima flight team.

Plaque Text: The circular composition depicting the transportation evolution in Naperville notes significant landmarks of travel via train, water, automobile, and airplane. The Denver Zephyr, the Quincy Depot, Old Plank Road, which is now known as Odgen Avenue, the Washington Street wooden bridge, and Main Street's stone bridge are representative of this transition. So too are the filling stations, auto garages, taxis, Prince Castle's drive-in, and our very own Lima Lima flight team flying in formation.
