Description: Naperville Century Walk Corporation's 42nd piece of outdoor public art, a life-size bronze sculpture of the Christmas-stealing Grinch and his faithful dog, Max, just outside the Naper Boulevard Library at 2350 S. Naper Blvd.

Plaque Text: For over sixty yars, Theodor Seuss Geisel delighted millions worldwide with his fanciful and oftentimes surreal worlds. His unbridled creativity in writing and illustrating his 44 books for children and his ability to touch the hearts of everyone goes unmatched within the 20th century art and literature worlds. It is appropriate that this sculpture of the Grinch and his dog, Max, who doubles as a reindeer, be located here to greet everyone upon arrival. In addition, they server to remind us of the lesson learned in "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" - that being friendly makes life a lot more enjoyable. This sculpture was made possible by a grant from the City of Naperville's Special Events and Cultural Amenities Fund.
