Title: River of Life

Artist: Junior High and High School Students from District 203 Schools

Location: Jefferson Ave. between Webster St. and Main St.

Medium: mosaic

Creation Date: 1999

Installation Date: 1999

Description: Clay story quilt.

Plaque Text: These clay story quilts celebrate the diversity of Naperville life flowing into the twenty-first century. Created in classes as a comprehensive, cooperative art project by local students working with teachers and artist-in-residence Corinne Peterson, the quilts were inspired by internationally-renowned artist and author Faith Ringgold. Funded principally by the Naperville Jaycees and others noted on tiles at the base of each quilt, we give this gift, our youth's visual thoughts and feelings, to our community. Thank you for believing in us.
